Remix OS was a free and open-source operating system for personal computers, based on the Android operating system. It was developed by Jide Technology, a company founded by three former Google employees.
Remix OS was designed to provide a desktop-like experience on Android devices, allowing users to multitask, use a keyboard and mouse, and access traditional desktop applications. It was optimized for use on x86-based hardware, which made it compatible with most PCs and laptops.
The operating system was discontinued in early 2017, and Jide Technology shifted its focus to enterprise solutions. However, some of the features and technologies developed for Remix OS have been integrated into Jide's current products, including a productivity suite called "Jide Drive."
